On occasion, some legitimate email messages might appear in the Junk Email folder in Outlook. It is worth periodically checking the Junk Email folder for messages that is not spam so you are not missing out on messages that you want to see.
If there are items appearing in the Junk Email folder that shouldn't, you can use the step below to stop these items from appearing in Junk Email next time they are sent.
- In the Mail folder pane, click the Junk Email folder.
- Click any message that you don’t want to be marked as junk.
- On the Home tab, click Junk, and then click Not Junk.
NOTE: A message that you mark as Not Junk is moved back to the folder it was delivered to, usually the Inbox folder. You may get a prompt to choose if you want to add the sender to your Safe Senders list. If it is a sender that you know and trust, add the sender to your Safe Senders list so messages are not moved to your Junk Email folder next time.
If all the items in the Junk Email folder are spam messages, you can delete all of the messages in the folder by right-clicking the Junk Email folder, and then clicking Empty Folder.
