Certain applications or OS changes can modify power options to keep a device in a highly ready sleep state, which can wake up Windows more easily.
The Window 10/11 Settings app will not show all the fine-grained adjustments made to a sleep setting, but Control Panel has options that might be able to reset them.
- Open Start, type Control Panel, then open it.
- Click System and Security, then Power Options.
- You will see your current power plan used. In this example, click Balanced (recommended) then click Change plan settings.
- Click Restore default settings for this plan. Then Save.
When done restart your computer.
There are times where sleep settings cannot be adjusted back and remains in a highly ready sleep state. Consider shutting down Windows for such devices when placed in a confined space to not being used for a prolonged period.
