This guide describes how to add a Real World Technology Solutions Hosted Exchange mailbox to the Windows 10 Mail App using IMAP.
IMAP Settings
Most of these settings can be used in other IMAP email programs, however some are specific to the Windows 10 Mail App.
Email Address: | Your Real World Technology Solutions Hosted Exchange email address. |
Username: | The first part of your email address before the '@' symbol, prefixed with 'exchange\'. For example, if you email address is johns@company.com - your username would be exchange\johns |
Password: | Your email address password. |
Incoming Email Server: | imap.exchange.thecore.net.au |
Incoming Email Server Account Type: |
IMAP4 |
Outgoing (SMTP) Email Server: |
smtp.exchange.thecore.net.au |
Windows 10 Mail App
- Open the Start Menu, then locate and open the Email tile.
- The Windows 10 Email App will open. If you have not added an email account already, you will see Accounts that you've added screen. Click or tap the Add account option.
- In the Choose an account page, click or tap Advanced setup.
- On the Advanced setup page, click or tap Internet email.
- On the Internet email account page, fill in the fields with the below information.
Email address: Your Real World Technology Solutions Hosted
Exchange email address.Username: The first part of your email address before the
'@' symbol, prefixed with 'exchange\'. For example,
if you email address is johns@company.com
- your username would be exchange\johnsPassword: Your email address password. Account Name: Any name that you would like to call this account
in the Windows 10 Email App.Send your messages
using this name:Any name that you would like the messages
you send to appear from.Incoming email server: imap.exchange.thecore.net.au Account type: Choose the IMAP4 option Outgoing (SMTP) email
server:smtp.exchange.thecore.net.au Outgoing server requires
authentication:Ensure this option is ticked. Use the same username and
password for sending emails:Ensure this option is ticked. Require SSL for
incoming emails:Ensure this option is ticked. Require SSL for
outgoing emails:Ensure this option is ticked.
The information should look similar to the sample shown below. When all the information has been added, click or tap the Sign In button. - At the All finished! page, click or tap Done.
- If you are returned to the Accounts that you've added screen, you will see an entry for the account you have added. Click or tap the Go to inbox button.
- The Windows 10 Email App will then display your mailbox.
